Users’ Testimonials

(1) B.E. (4-year-old girl)

She said, "I want more teacher."

What do you think of Cambridge's curriculum?
I had heard that online lessons were mainly for elementary school students and up, but I consulted with the teacher and I was very grateful that even 4-year-olds could take lessons. She's only 4 years old, so rather than going through a proper curriculum, we’re trying to see if she’s interested in 25-minute lessons on a computer and if the lesson style would be a good fit for my daughter. It's been 3 months, but she seems to enjoy her lessons with the teacher, and before the lesson starts, she happily starts to prepare, and after the lesson is over, she says, "I want more teacher." in a lonely voice.
How are Cambridge's lessons?
I think watching YouTube is also a good way to study English, but the lesson is not just about looking at your phone or computer. It is about actually talking to my daughter in English, drawing pictures and listening to music together, and empathizing with her in English, so I am very satisfied with the style of the lessons where she can learn English naturally in a fun way.
How do you feel about the effects of Cambridge's lessons?
There are times I thought she wasn’t listening to the vocabulary being taught or music played in the lesson, but after the lesson or a few days later, she would say the words learned in the lesson out loud or find the music from the lesson on YouTube and tell me, “Mommy, I did this with the teacher!” Even though it may seem like she wasn't listening, but she seemed to have absorbed the lesson well.
What do you like about Cambridge's teachers?
The teacher is very child-oriented and kind. I really appreciate that even if my daughter is not keen on the lessons, she is able to match her pace and work with her so that she never hates the lessons. My daughter and I look forward to lesson days and she is a teacher we really like.
What do you think of the lesson schedule?
They are very kind and flexible when we want to cancel and reschedule a lesson. I am very grateful that I don't have to take my children to and from school, and that they are able to connect and enjoy their classes by themselves.

(2) H.S. (8-year-old boy)

It's interesting to try to communicate

Cambridge's courses and levels are easy to understand and the content is excellent. And the lessons are not only for studying, but also for chatting, which is interesting and fun, so you can improve your communication skills. The teacher is easy to understand. My son has looked up English words to talk with the teacher and he also watches more English Youtube videos now. The school is flexible about making up for lessons, and my child can log in on his own and enjoys the lessons.

(3) M.L. (9-year-old girl)

I’m gaining confidence to speak English.

You can study at any time you want, so my daughter can balance her time with other extra-curricular activities. Through phonics, I feel that her reading and writing skills have improved. I feel that she has more confidence to try and communicate and she is understanding what the teacher is saying more. Whenever she encounters English in daily life, she tries to read by herself and explains it to me as well. She likes to using the system, and she enjoys working alone where she feels that she can practice even if she makes a mistake. She tells me that she hopes that she can continue to improve.

(4) Y.Y. (5-year-old girl)

With writing though, her skills are visibly improving, probably because of dictation activities.

What do you think of Cambridge's curriculum?
I feel that they have topics that match the season (Christmas, Valentine's Day, winter sports, etc.) and are easy for young children to be interested in.
How are Cambridge's lessons?
Currently, the style is mainly speaking in the first half of the class and writing in the second half. She is doing quiz-style practice of words commonly used in daily life (they, she, it, we, do, does, etc.) with her teacher.
How do you feel about the effects of Cambridge's lessons?
Her current daycare doesn't seem to focus much on English, so I feel her English skills have declined compared to her previous school. Currently, we are having her first maintain her level with online lessons. With writing though, her skills are visibly improving, probably because of dictation activities. She has started writing out the lyrics of her favorite songs.
What do you like about Cambridge's teachers?
The teacher praises her often and I can tell that the teacher makes a great effort to keep her occupied. They are patient and allow my child to go at her own pace. Also, since we do this at home, when my child shows her toys and such, the teacher responds.
What do you think of the lesson schedule?
Make-up lessons and changes are handled quickly and flexibly with no special procedures. It is also good that the communication is through e-mail. I like that online lessons do not require transportation and are not burdensome. My child likes her teacher, so I would like to continue with the lessons from hereon too.

(5) K.C. (8-year-old girl)

I really appreciate that they motivate my child to speak.

I really appreciate that Cambridge's lessons are tailored to my child's pace and interests, and that they motivate my child to speak. Also, I think the cost is very reasonable. The lessons are one-on-one, so I can often see my daughter, who is shy and rarely speaks up in group lessons at other schools, trying to communicate in English in a fun and positive way with the teacher. There are always 4 lessons per month and it’s easy to adjust the schedule with make-up lessons. Overall, we are very satisfied with the school. I have even recommended the school to my daughter's classmate.
